"The mass of men lead lives of quiet desperation, and go to the grave with the song still in them" --Henry David Thoreau

Just a few short years ago I was one of those guys that Henry Thoreau referred to as living a life of quiet desperation. On the surface, life was placid and pretty awesome. I lived in Los Angeles, had an extremely successful career as an executive in corporate entertainment, a great salary, an expense account, the big house, the new car - I was living the American Dream - and I was entirely miserable! I had bought into manufactured happiness, dreams that were mirages and, quite frankly, money and consumerism. I was playing by someone else's rules and I was doing it all wrong. I felt powerless, passionless, purposeless...and I was frustrated and angry because I couldn't envision how I could possibly reboot the life and career I had built over the decades. I was almost 41 years old...and I was on the precipice. Would I continue leading that life of quiet desperation....or would I embrace the man I was born to be?

Power. Passion. Purpose.

Standing on that precipice, I made the decision that I would not go to the grave with my song still in me. I decided to take the reigns of my life and redefine success for myself. I began working with a coach/mentor and I quickly realized that I wasn't in the midst of a mid-life crisis - I was actually enjoying a mid-life awakening! I wasn't running away from anything - I was finally running to myself and stoking the fire that had been simmering inside of me for years. I was reclaiming my power, reigniting my passion and rediscovering my purposeI enjoyed a spiritual awakening, boundless energy, and a renewed vigor for life, friends, family and most of all, my own infinite possibilities.

"If you don't like how things are, change it! You're not a tree!" --Jim Rohn

I made changes. Big changes. I quit the corporate job (and it felt great!), sold the house, packed up my wife, daughter and dog and we left the big city for the Rocky Mountain highs and great outdoors of colorful Colorado. I knew my true calling was to work with other men and help them facilitate their own mid-life or mid-career awakenings. I wanted to share my wisdom, my experience and, most importantly, my reinvigorated energy, unbridled joy and sense of fulfillment with as many other mid-career men as possible so that they too could enjoy the same mid-life awakening in their lives and careers. Having seen the power of coaching - the insight, the honesty, the action-oriented approach, the goal-setting and the personal accountability - I knew that it was the perfect profession for me to change the world...one man at a time!

"Vision without action is merely a dream. Action without vision just passes the time. Vision with action can change the world" --Joel Barker

My Bio

I was born and raised in a small town in Central New Jersey and graduated from Rutgers University summa cum laude. After graduation I backpacked the world for 6 months and learned more in those 6 months than in all 4 years of college. Upon returning, I packed a Hefty bag of CD's and a Hefty bag of clothes into the trunk of my Plymouth Horizon and moved to Los Angeles. The plan was to eventually attend Berkley Law but, as fate would have it, I fell into corporate entertainment. When the dust settled, I emerged with over 23 years of experience in advertising, marketing, TV, online, music, print, sales, and business development for various startups (ARTISTdirect.com), agencies (Western, Initiative), websites (UBL.com, iMusic.com) and TV networks (Outdoor Life, Tru TV, DIRECTV, IFC, BBC America, Sundance and AMC). Along the way, I've been a team-player and a team-leader. I've brokered tens of millions of dollars in advertising, sales and partnerships and my biggest takeaway is that personal integrity and quality, trust-based relationships are everything.

However, all of these accomplishments pale in comparison to the success and joy I've felt as a husband to my beautiful wife, a father to my amazing 9 year old daughter and as a coach/consultant whose goal in life is to make the world a better place one person at a time!
